The city of Ahmedabad was founded on February 26, 1411 and announced as the capital on 4 March 1411 by Ahmed Shah I of Gujarat Sultanate. Ahmedabad is the largest city of Gujarat, and located on the banks of river Sabarmati. Early settlements can be recorded around the 12th century under Chaulukya dynasty rule. 

Ahmedabad is very important economic, financial and industrial hub of India. It is prominent produce of cotton in India. With the increase in population, there is a considerable increase in construction and infrastructural development activities, that has resulted in building lot of skyscrapers in recent times. 

In 2010 Ahmedabad was ranked as one of the fastest growing cities by one of the leading magazine. In 2012, one of the leading English daily of India choose Ahmedabad  as best city to live in. Situated on the banks of river Sabarmati, the city of Ahmedabad stands for ultra modern malls, multiplexes, gardens on one side and museums and heritage monuments on the other side.
